Sunday Forums

Sunday Forums are held during each of our worship services which allows you the opportunity to attend a Forum and then attend worship or visa versa. We invite you to join us for any of the following:

8:15am The Screwtape Letters, Jan 15 - Mar 19,
Facilitated by Bill Harris in the Fellowship Hall

Both shocking and amusing, CS Lewis's satire was a bestseller in its day (1940s), selling over half a million copies. It was a brilliant exposé of the creeping atheism, existentialism and materialism of Lewis's time, attracting the "modern reader - who normally may have dismissed Christianity as ancient foolishness - to take its claims more seriously. Screwtape, a senior tempter, gives advice to his nephew (Wormwood), a bungling, novice devil who is assigned to secure an eternal home for his "patient" with "our father below" (i.e., Satan). Lewis deftly uses Screwtape's advice to expose the enemy's schemes and snares, and show us ways in which we today are still tripped up by his tricks.

9:30am:  Ephesians - Blessed in Christ to Live as His Holy People
Jan 15 - Mar 19, Facilitated by John Hiigel in Room 200

The spiritual riches in Paul's letter to the Ephesians are unsurpassed in all of Scripture. Paul announces that God has blessed us in Christ with a purpose: that our lives would be holy, lived to the praise of his glory. He is maturing us together to be his own united, holy people so that we can operate by his immense power to do great things - especially, to challenge the spiritual powers that are at the root of all that is messed up in our world. Join us as we immerse ourselves in this grand vision for God's church.
