ABOUT US

In 2013, God developed within our congregation a ministry to new moms called Cherub’s Closet. It started with giving moms a “Baby-Shower-In-A-Box” and was most often delivered through area hospitals. As the years went by the ministry continued to evolve showing up for parents and guardians in new ways while still focusing on meeting the needs of young children with essential basics like diapers and gently used clothing.

To date, we have given hundreds of “shower boxes” and thousands of diapers to families in need. Our heart is to: 1) show Jesus’ love and generosity by meeting felt needs, and 2) build relationships in hopes to share the Good News of Jesus. We are always trying to be more effective and regularly look for ways to build better relationships.

You can find us on the third Saturday of each month distributing diapers and other items (based on donations) from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Oak Hills Baptist Church. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

When do you do diaper distributions?
Volunteers distribute diapers on the third Saturday of every month from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM.

How do I qualify to get diapers?
Anyone is able to come and get diapers for their child. You do not need to prove financial need to receive diapers.

What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring a photo ID (drivers license, passport, etc) and a piece of mail showing your current mailing address. We will also collect your child’s name & date of birth.

What if I have more than one child in diapers?
Each family can receive one pack of diapers per child, up to two packs of diapers per month per family.

What sizes of diapers do you have?
We have sizes newborn to size 6. Each month we purchase diapers to ensure that we have enough on hand based on the previous months need however they are while supplies last.

What sizes of clothes do you have?
We have newborn through size 3T clothing available. All clothing is gently used, clean and organized in seasonally appropriate outfits. Clothing is available based on donations while supplies last.

If I am pregnant, can I still come?
You are welcome to come for the two months leading up to your due date. This will give you the flexibility to have diapers and clothing on hand even if you cannot attend the month your child is born.

Can I get diapers outside of these hours?
Unfortunately, no. We are not set up as an emergency relief operation. Diapers will be given out ONLY on our distribution day.

I am not able to come at those times. Can someone else pick up diapers for me?
You will need to attend one time to prove your identity, however, at that time you can list an alternative pick up on your file. Then in the future, that person simply needs to come with your name, your child’s name and date of birth to pick up for you.

How do I get involved?

You can pray for this ministry. Every month we show up simply to serve people in need. Pray for the parents, guardians, children & volunteers that enter our doors.
You can donate diapers. Our largest need is bigger sized diapers.
You can donate clothing. There is always a need for clean, gently used clothing sizes birth to 3T. This includes basic clothing as well as other necessities such as sleepers, hats, shoes, bibs, blankets & more.
You can support us financially.
