In 2013, God developed within our congregation a ministry to new moms called Cherub’s Closet. This ministry aims to help moms in need with essential basics like diapers and gently used clothing. It started with giving moms a “Baby-Shower-In-A-Box” and was most often delivered through area hospitals. We have now expanded the ministry to include a monthly distribution of diapers and clothing on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 1:30pm. To date, we have given hundreds of “shower boxes” and over 175,000 diapers to moms/families in need. Our heart is to: 1) show Jesus’ love and generosity by meeting felt needs, and 2) build relationships in hopes to share the Good News of Jesus. We are always trying to be more effective and regularly look for ways to build better relationships.
These are the things we can always use:
- towels and washcloths
- used clothing, bibs, coats
- boxes (the size that contains reams of paper)
- baby blankets, receiving blankets
- people to help with distribution
